I will continue to work with our new Governor, Congressmen Jindal, Jefferson and Melancon, Senators Vitter and Landrieu, Parish Presidents Rodriguez, Davis and Nungesser to make sure we get state and federal funds to protect our homes and businesses from flooding.
- Fight to get complete levee protection for St. Bernard Parish
- Continue to fight for citizens trying to come back home and re-settle
- Re-vamp the Louisiana Road Home program to make it responsive and accountable to the needs of our citizens
- Funding for restoration, replacement and repair of sewer/water system in St. Bernard/Plaquemine Parishes
- Federal and state funding for the W-14 Canal and the Greater Slidell area
- Support the master plan of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA)
- Close the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet ( MRGO ) and support mitigation for current occupants

I will work with federal legislators to make sure affordable quality health care is available for all.
- Work to support the opening of new state-of-the-art hospital to serve St. Bernard/Plaquemines Parishes
- Work to reduce the cost of prescription drugs and the high cost of medical care
- Introduce legislation to provide state income tax credits for senior citizens for the cost of health insurance policies and prescription drugs
- Promote Southeast Louisiana as a Regional Medical and Research Center
- Provide Homeland Security funding to the hospital community, fire and law enforcement officials so that we will be prepared to respond to natural disasters and biological or chemical attacks

- Pass legislation that disqualifies a lobbyist who is a convicted felon
- Require all legislative public meetings to be televised and archived on the web
- Toughen the Ethics Code and increase penalties for elected officials that break the law
- Strengthen the Office of Inspector General by increasing its budget to be more effective in fighting corruption

I authored the Child Protection Bill (HB363) to increase public awareness of child predators and provide for the tracking of convicted sex offenders throughout the state.
- Pass legislation supporting pro-life initiatives
- Continue to support legislation to protect the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman
- Introduce legislation requiring the DMV to assist law enforcement officials by maintaining a database of convicted child molesters inclusive of their location, movement and all vehicles they own
- Address increasing problem of underage drinking and drug abuse
- Legislation to promote abstinence instead of risky life threatening alternatives

I will continue to work for the growth of jobs with current Louisiana businesses and I will continue to support legislation to encourage new businesses to come to Louisiana.
- Reduce the corporate franchise tax and reduce or eliminate the business sales tax on borrowed capitol, expansion, machinery and equipment.
- Support the expansion of our Louisiana ports to create meaningful jobs for our citizens
- Work to extend the national LAMDA/LONI rail to southeast Louisiana and Stennis for job opportunities
- Support Tax Exemption for Drilling Rigs – this affects thousands of jobs and millions in our economy
- Provide a business tax credit when hiring a Louisiana TOPS graduate
- Continue to Chair the Legislative Science and Technology Committee to assist and attract Technology firms
- Assign the responsibility of the Department of Economic Development to the Lieutenant Governor
- Continue “ SHOP LOUISIANA ” initiatives encouraging government agencies to buy from Louisiana companies
- Continue to position East St. Tammany as a TECHNOLOGY CORRIDOR
- Continue to work on establishing the Slidell/ UNO Tech Park

Conserve and reclaim our wetlands |

I will work with our Congressional Delegation to acquire federal matching funds to save and re-claim Louisiana's coastline.
- Support state and federal legislation to extend Louisiana's boundary line further in to the Gulf
- Support the post-hurricane re-establishment of our coastal fishing industry
- Support the Constitutional Amendment to use tobacco settlement money for coastal conservation

Reduce the size of Louisiana government and taxes |
- Update the Louisiana Tax Code
- Eliminate the Stelly Plan personal income tax increase
- Reduce the state sales tax from 4 cents to 2 cents
- Reduce the level of "Mandated" spending
- Overhaul the "SBD" rating policy in the state civil service code
- Permanently eliminate "unfilled" state job positions that have budgets attached to them
- Outsource more government services that will provide jobs for the private sector
- Create competition and reduce waste
- Prohibit "fee increase bills" from being introduced in regular sessions
- Pass legislation to reduce the state's dependency on gambling revenue
- Eliminate income, property and estate taxes for senior citizens over 65 to encourage more retirees to move to Louisiana
